The IRF4 gene is located on chromosome 6p25.3. A 40 Kb orange probe is designed at the 3′ end of the IRF4 gene, and a 500 Kb green probe is designed at the 5′ end of the IRF4 gene. It detects IRF4 gene rearrangements in hematologic malignancies using dual-color fluorescence in situ hybridization.
This identifies IRF4 translocations commonly found in multiple myeloma, plasmacytoma, and certain lymphomas. Essential for accurate diagnosis and classification of plasma cell disorders and B-cell neoplasms.
