COVID-19, Flu, RSV, or Strep A? Understanding the Role of Rapid Respiratory Testing
A patient may present a cough, fever, sore throat, and congestion, but identifying the cause can be challenging. Typical cold-like symptoms may be associated with COVID-19, influenza A or B, RSV, or even Group A strep. Symptoms alone often don’t identify the source of illness; however, rapid testing can aid in pinpointing a possible cause during a single office visit, supporting informed next steps and timely follow-up.
